Two Swedes who missed the taste of home.

We're Ash & Jonas, and we both grew up in Sweden with Swedish candy. Moving to the US, we kept running into the same thing: the snacks here just don't hit home the way the ones we grew up with do.

How it started

In 2024, months back home with family in Sweden put Ash right back among the candy he grew up on. He started meeting suppliers and studying the market, and what began as an idea slowly turned into a real plan to bring it to the US.

Back in the US, Jonas, who grew up on the same candy, started working out his own way to sell it. Ash's plan came from suppliers and market research in Sweden. Jonas's was a different angle altogether. Neither was the whole answer, so we put them together and built the business around both.

Then Jonas came up with the name. A pun nobody could top: The Swedest Thing. Today, the two of us pack every order and ship it from Los Angeles. The rest, as they say, is candy.

Who we are

Two friends, one shared plan. We both do everything here: sourcing, packing, shipping, answering your emails. Every order is packed by one of us, and every email is answered by one of us.

The Lördagsgodis tradition

Lördagsgodis (LUR-dahgs-goo-dis) · “Saturday sweets”

In Sweden, candy has a day. Lördagsgodis, “Saturday sweets,” is the custom of saving candy for the weekend and choosing it with care, often by the scoop from a wall of loose candy. It's the tradition we grew up with, and the one we're bringing to the US.
